So you have the right to tell a person that they are most likely not going to Heaven? Last time I checked, only God could judge. You should be. It’s a wake-up call. To be protestant is to reject the church God started, by the person of Christ. To reject the origins of the bible (It’s a 4th century collection of the writings of the Bishops and Apostles of the 1st Century church, collated in Nicea by the collected bishops of the church, and promulgated as the “Approved for liturgical use list.”
As far as the church is concerned, you methodists are most likely gonna burn. The Baptists probably will, too.
You protestants have only one valid sacrament: Baptism. Everything else is void of merit by lacking the authority of the Apostles. Authority handed down in the Catholic, Orthodox, and Assyrian Churches.
You rejected the line of the church, the inheritance that is your birthright, and ignore large chunks of the bible, willfully misreading them to justify your separation from the apostolic faith of the Catholic, Orthodox (Eastern and Oriental), and Assyrian churches. (Churches which, to some degree or another, Catholics officially consider part of the Apostolic faith, even tho not fully united to the petrine office.)
It is no service to you to praise you for what little protestantism has gotten right; to do so is to encourage you to burn, if not eternally, then for quite some time in the purifying fires of the fringes of hell (orthodox/EC) or purgatory (catholic).
Quite honestly, if my faith was broken sufficiently to reject the Catholic, Orthodox, and Assyrian churches, there would be no point in being a Christian at all… for protestants lack the merits spoken of in the biblical texts. Because my faith is informed… and the bible is a product of the church that was and is the catholic and orthodox churches. If the bible is truth, then protestantism isn’t. If it isn’t truth, protestantism still isn’t.
I’ve often languished in wonder which I should be EO, or Catholic… but never doubted the historical truth that Simon-Peter was one of the 12 apostles, nor that the Catholic and Orthodox churches are the direct descent of the Early Church, and that the early church was a liturgical and spiritual church, and still is today.
And as uncomfortable as it is for you protestants to hear it, your religion is false; better to die in suffering for the true church than to reject the church which Christ himself started.
