Metropolit Volodymyr Kyivskij on 6 Feb 2008 has meeting with Cardinal Raffael Martino who is head of Papal Council for Peace and Justice of Immigrants. Meeting in Kyiv at Pecherska Lavra.

Cardinal and Metropolit were talking of problem of 6 - 8 million immigrants of Ukraine to countries of Catolic predominant - Espagne, Portugalia, and Italia. Cardinal is saying Catolic priests there will provide places for Orthodox priests to have Holy Services for Orthodox believers. Holiness Cardinal said that Bishop of Napoli in Italia has given Russian/Ukrainian Orthodox community a Church for their Holy Services. Orthodox people very much appreciate this - so many of young people have gone to West for jobs. Many thanks to Catolic Church!

This is a wonderful example of true eccumenism. Hopefully one day soon, we will all be joined as one united Catholic Orthodox (or Orthodox Catholic) Church, and so such sharing of space will be automatic and normal. Still this is a wonderful thing to see.
