Hello, If atheists commonly say that the Universe is just eternal and Uncaused, what about the Theist claim that God is Eternal and Uncaused?

If Infinity is just an idea in your mind and cannot exist in reality then doesn’t the argument go:
  1. God is infinite
  2. Infinity is just an idea
  3. Therefore God is just an idea, and ‘‘not something that exists in reality.’’

As another question this video poses:

Does God know the actual number of events that happen in a person’s eternal afterlife?

?? Thanks in advance for responses!

Proper argument, proper form, however, the conclusion does not flow from the premise simply because premise 2 is unprovable and/or false.

When we say infinite cannot exist in reality, what we should ACTUALLY say is that infinite cannot exist in our current and constrained finite universe. We cannot have an idea of what is outside of our universe, so we cannot say that infinite is “just an idea.” If Christianity presupposed that God existed infinitely inside of our universe, it would be wrong, but Christianity teaches that God exists infinitely OUTSIDE of the universe making the atheist point moot.

Define “events” in an existance that lacks a temporal dimension. In other words, this question can only be asked if the person inquiring does not understand what Christian theology is in regards to afterlife. When we understand that time as we know it only exists within our finite universe, we come to understand that eternal afterlife is timeless (hence the fact that it is called eternal life, rather than everlasting).

This guy in this video needs to brush up on his science before he tries posing these questions again.
