I love to learn about and defend the Catholic faith, but I’m worried that I could be causing sin in doing so. For example:

Asking questions:
Asking questions (especially for the whole world to see, like on this forum) like “how do you prove this?”, “why is this true?”, “how do you respond to this?”, etc. seems like it could easily cause someone to doubt their faith, especially if the answers given are not sufficient for them. Could it be sinful to ask questions like this if there is possibility of someone doubting because of it?

Defending the faith:
When using apologetics, the answer to an argument is often not known, and I know from personal experience that I can often say things that the Church doesn’t teach unknowingly. I can see how this would both give the other person more confidence in their false beliefs, can give them a bad idea of the Church, etc.

Isn’t it true that when one causes another to sin in some way, they are committing a sin equal to that of the one that they caused? So if someone were to cause voluntary doubt of faith by the asking of a question, would they be committing a mortal sin? I hope you see where I’m getting at.

Related to the above without a specific answer, I must say that a Catholic is a well, we are filled by God with His very life by grace. The Protestant method related to the theology of belief and the Merits of Jesus cloaking us is a canal, that which flows in goes right out again. When we accept grace and are filled, it is then that we can reason the truths of faith from the deepest level of our reason and faith.

There is a lot of bad philosophy affecting theology and these effect how people offer the faith. Doing has surpassed being in importance and since so many are doing we think we need to follow suit. The higher truth is: we can’t offer what we don’t have.

You are the most scrupulous person in the entire forums.
Have you yet heeded the advice of numerous members telling you to talk to your priest about this.
All you do is open threads asking if something is a sin or not and I haven’t seen one thread where a sin is actually involved!!

PLEASE TALK TO YOUR PRIEST!!!
