Dear friends:

Re: theshrineofstjude.info

For those of you devoted to Saint Jude,
please be careful of the above site.
I am not accusing them of actually doing anything wrong,
but I am suspicious.

It is an attractive website devoted to St. Jude.
However, on the “contact us” link, when you click it,
you are given a list of (real) St. Jude Shrines and their email addresses.
You do NOT connect with the owners of THIS website, however.
That is weird.
Not only that, but I contacted the listed St. Jude Shrines. They have never heard of
and are not affiliated with this website. This too is odd,
because this Website accepts ONLINE DONATIONS to light virtual Votive Lights
AND accepts ONLINE DONATIONS to have Masses said.
But none of the listed Shrines has heard of this website, so who is receiving these
Mass stipends? Who is lighting the votive lights ? Who is receiving the donations???
There at present is no way to find out,
so if you are devoted to St. Jude, please be careful of this particular website.
They may be as innocent as lambs and legitimate,
but there is NO WAY to verify it at present.
Love,
Jaypeeto4

Very interesting, indeed:hmmm:

Thank you much for the info.

They’ve also used a domain-by-proxy service, which I find more than slightly shady. :dts:

I would suggest that if anyone wants to donate they should contact a real shrine and ask them how to donate money to them directly without having to use the above mentioned website which seems to me is a scam.

Yes, when a website hides the identity of who runs it, a caution flag is raised in my mind. Why the anonymity?
