I hear ya, Wolf. I was Episcopalian for about 7 years before I realized what they taught at a national level. My wife and I were chilled at their beliefs and ran for the hills. Our Anglican diocese here was the first entire diocese to leave the Episcopal Church. Bishop Schofield, maverick and man of God that he is, started much of the brave trailblazing that led to this new province. He’s a great man. And it was Queen Katherine that ran them out along with their liberal values.I was baptized an Episcopal in my youth but became atheist in my late teenage years. Right now, I’m quite happy I left it when I did.
Although I feel bad for all the orthodox Episcopals out there. This has to be a trying time for them.
I’m just sad to see the new province starting off on the wrong foot allowing dioceses to ordain women as priestesses if they so wish. It’s a sad adendum to a promising start…They were almost there: pro life constitution, determined to church-build and evangelize, opposed to gay marriage, cracking down on clerical divorce, and committed to orthodoxy…then…the liberal women’s ordination loophole…Mark my words, it WILL come back to haunt them. It is a great sin and such a fundamental misunderstanding of the nature of the priesthood.
