CCC scripture citation index? Please give your thoughts!

This so awesome. In fact do you mind if I link your site from my wordpress blog that created on daily catholic bible readings???

I am hoping to get a lot of feedback whether good or bad so I will know for sure if it is worth the time, or if there is any other site that has already done the same. I have searched some and have not found another yet. Thank you all in advance!
 
Thank you for allowing to link your site. Getting the word in many ways makes a difference. I consider the CCC the best outside of the Bible. I have been giving references quite a bit from the CCC when in regards to scripture. The CCC in my opinion has been the best catechism produced. I love Baltimore Catechism 3 as well, but the CCC uses more than just scripture references and makes it worth while to reference back and forth from the Bible. Always keep the Faith

If you would, would you please give me the link that you are referring to so that I can confirm it, it would truly impact whether I do this project. I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you! That is, the one that gives a linked index to the Scripture citations in the Catechism.

They are not on a single page like the way you are doing it; it’s much more involved than that.
Go to the page that I posted above and click on “Search a biblical text and its commentary”. Then in the left window click on the Old Testament and click on Genesis when the page comes up. Then under the Heading column click on Six days of creation. When that screen comes up on the right hand side (you may have to scroll down a bit) you will see a button that says “comment”, click on that. The left side of the screen then gives all the citations and when you scroll down to the Magisterium section you will see all the citations in the CCC that pertain to those Biblical verses.
 
I have started matching verses with CCC references. I will send you what I have done in a couple of days to help get you started for awhile
 
I make this invitation to anyone who would be interested in working on this project. Anybody can join my site free and build right long with me, no strings or span attached. Here is the link to copy the CCC paragraphs that I am using scborromeo.org/ccc/para/

You can create a page on my site and work on a book of the Bible if you like. I think a team working together can really knock this out and provide a great tool for Catholics! If anyone is seriously interested then contact me if you want to come up with a game plan. My site is very simple to use, and I will assist anyone who needs help getting started. The CCC Scripture index is found in the back of the Catechism, that is what I am using. If you don’t have one on hand then I can scan it and make it available. Thank you!
 
hmm. I am copying by verse and matching it with references according to the footnotes at the bottom of the page in the Catechism book. I have all scripture passages matched up through reference number 301. When I get to 500, I will send you the doc for you to proof. Shouldn’t be much more than a day. I have too much time on my hands since I got laid off.

I think you have been working way too hard, I may have not explained my idea clearly. In the back of the CCC there is a Scripture index of citations. Here is a sample page that I have scanned. litteralchristianlibrary.wetpaint.com/page/CCC+sample

So what I am thinking about doing is providing this index online to where you can click onto the Scripture reference and it will take you right to the paragraph.
 
As I have read over the posts I think I may have not clarified myself and the objective, sorry for causing any confusion. So if going by my last post you can click onto this link litteralchristianlibrary.wetpaint.com/wiki/litteralchristianlibrary/page/CCC+Scripture+Citations%3A+Genesis and then choose a verse and then click onto the link, it will take you right to the paragraph in the CCC where that Bible verse is quoted. That is the idea. The CCC has already created the index, all I am looking to do is to link the paragraphs so that it will automatically take you to the paragraph.
 
Great idea Cope! This is something that’s been needed for a long time and it is incredible that no one has attempted to take the time to provide this before. Even the USCCB, who have a number of good Catechism references on their site have (apparently) not thought to do this. The format looks just fine to me.

I applaud you and those who are helping with this! :clapping:

Thank you! I have not quite decided to do this, but I am praying about. It will require lots of time, but I love this kind of stuff! I am also amazed that this has not already been done, that is why I have been searching and also requested others to look into it to make sure that this has not been done yet. There is a wonderful Scripture index like this of the Summa Theologica and the Church Fathers that I have found extremely helpful over the years, and I figured this could also be just as helpful if not even more so.

ahh. I have the pocket edition with the subject index and modifications from Editio Typica. Mine doesn’t have the page that you had scanned. But I have seen that one though/
