I believe the specially appointed Vatican commission finished its work and held the final session on Jan 17,2014. The report was handed over to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the faith to examine theological, doctrinal, and disciplinary concerns.

It would be safe to say that the CDF has also finished its work and will in the near future release the findings.

Again, after reading the documents on the Diocese of Mostar website I find it highly unlikely the Vatican will overturn the 1991 bishops report. However the Vatican is in sort of a bind because the alleged visions are still occurring and the promised “you know what” has not occurred though it was predicted.

Just to be clear what is banned in the In the News forums is: Promoting unapproved apparitions and revelations (those not approved by the Church for private or public devotion) or alleged private locutions

Discussion that is not promotion is fine.
You failed to mention though that posting material from private revelations is prohibited.Which would loosely translate to posting alleged messages or prophecies or signs. This would also encompass alleged personal visions or messages one alleges come from Jesus or Mary or the saints.

I have never had a strong opinion either way on the Medjugorje apparitions, but I thought the latest (claimed) message from the Blessed Mother contained one sentence I thought uncharacteristic:

“But, my children, remember, love means to endure and to give, and never, ever to judge. Thank you.”

That “don’t judge” part sounds awfully modern for the Mary I know, not to mention more vague than she tends to be in true apparitions. We make judgments all day. Maybe she is reiterating what the Pope said about not judging gay people, but I doubt it because the phrase comes at the end, right after she is talking about loving and supporting priests ("your shepherds’).

I don’t know, I read these all the time, and that phrase struck me as odd, as if there was a human writing it.

What if you are called for jury duty?

The “Thank you for responding to my call” has bothered me for some time. I used to believe the messages and apparition were true but then I also thought the same for Bayside Necedah holy love and a few others. On the surface they seem to preach love and all but what they promote is fear AND disobedience.

I did a search in a concordance of of the thousands of messages and could no where find the mention of Holy Virgin or even Virgin.

Additionally thought it was sort of a tongue and cheek jab at Catholicism when she changed from Virgo the Virgin to Leo the Lion! Mind you I am not at all into astrology as that is divination and necromancy very serious sins. I just found it interesting. I wonder if anyone else had noticed that?
