Celibacy

The Church does not forbid marriage, even for priests (though it doesn’t allow you to act as a priest if you marry after taking vows).

The Gnostics forbade marriage on any grounds, and I believe the Albigensians may have as well. Paul is talking about something completely different, espescially since he himself was a celibate.

My interpretation of it?

Holding a key or keys represent authority.

From the King James Version

will place on his shoulder the key

to the house of David;
This is a horrible metaphor by the way…why not key in the hand? Any way this is the only real reference you’ve got. I tend to disregaurd revelations. Besides being written by a madman cast out of society, it is based on christianity, and not the other way around. So the keys to the house of David, equals Jesus giving Peter supreme authority? David was infallable yes? And wasn’t he elected by a council? Seems like he would be in the line of succession before Christ then huh?

Now, if Jesus had been married it wouldn’t make Him less of a holy person, but the fact if He was, His buddies would have recorded it.

Why? They didn’t record anything about 20 years of this man’s life…not one word…so of that time we truly KNOW nothing. Agree?

Did he? I never heard that before.

I don’t see how He didn’t. He lived with His parents learning the carpenter trade. That’s most likely how he supported Himself and His mother when St. Joseph died. When we finally see Him grown up, He’s going to a wedding with His mom. Remember, when He’s on the Cross He turns over her care to St. John. If someone else was taking care of her why would He need to do this?

Yes, the Albeginisians were like the culture of death on steroids. The believed bringing another life into the world was evil. They forbade marriage and instead fornicated because at least fornication was in secret while marriage was public evil doing.
