Celine Dion Ave Maria is there something wrong with it?

Just curious, I love to hear Celine Dion Sing Ave Maria, I find it very beautiful.
I post it on my Fb every once in a while. I don’t understand. Not one of my Catholic friends ever “like” it. I have never heard one of them mention it.
I am a new Catholic so maybe there is something I am not aware of:confused:
I am one of those people who really love music and tend to connect it with just about everything.

Maybe they can’t stand Celine Dion’s singing.

There are much better versions.
 
Have you listened to some other versions? Is this your favourite?

I find that when I post/share religious things on Facebook, I get very few likes on it. I think people are hesitant to show their religious vies prominently on Facebook. I wouldn’t take it to mean anything at all, other than they don’t identify it like you, or don’t want to share their faith on Facebook.

Also, I find that sharing videos or songs don’t get many likes, because people actually have to take the time to open it and listen to it or watch it and that doesn’t happen to often even if its something you would normally be interested in. Facebook is more about browsing for most people, then it is sitting down and watching something. Maybe try posting it here on the forum or on youtube and see how many people like it.
 
I wouldn’t worry about it-…you aren’t posting it on their fb pages- you are posting it on yours-and you love it:thumbsup:
 
Thank you, your probably right. I do get likes for other music. They possibly are keeping religious beliefs private.

I, too, love music and love to sing and praise the Lord. There is nothing that I have heard that is “wrong” with listening to Celine Dion. You like it, it ministers to you, listen to it with joy!

I love the Church and am so glad for the Real Presence. Someday I hope to write a spiritual song about the Real Presence. Perhaps you’ll write music about how the Church helps you worship God and be close to Jesus.
