If it is a pirated version that’s been edited that is copyright infringement but I know there is a pay service like Netflix that offers cleaned up versions of movies which is perfectly legal. Sorry I can’t remember the name.

Just wanted to give you a 👍. At 16 I know I didn’t have the maturity to not only avoid watching nudity in a show, but to make sure the version I could find without it was ok to watch. Very good job.🙂

I would avoid watching it completely. Why stain your mind, even in an edited version?

If you’re interested in Game of Thrones, read the books. HBO turns everything they get their hands on into epic smut fests, and it will only get worse. Even George RR Martin commented that he had no idea that his books were so dirty after seeing it on HBO. Don’t get me wrong - the books are plenty dirty in their own right, but they have nothing on the tv series.

You might want to ask an Apologist. They are the experts around here for that sort of thing. Part of the “gravity” of a sin, or if an act is sinful or not, is in the intention, as I understand it.
It sounds to me like your intentions are superb, or you wouldn’t be here, you would not have sought out a censored version. My remarks on sin are those of a novice, but I believe I am correct. I am proud of you for seeking out confirmation on your concern!
Happy Thanksgiving my Christian friend!

Ryman, I just called a friend about the Game of Thrones and watched a couple of clips. * I would buy my Son a couple of Braves tickets for coming to me about it and then ask him not to watch it any more. I like adventure, Knights and all of that, but I believe am afraid even in the edited versions there may be too much adult stuff.
Take care,
-E*

I’d second what the other posters have said. This isn’t safe for anyone aged 16. (I know because I once was 16.) 😃

And Martin is being disingenuous when he blames the makers of the TV show; there’s plenty of problematic material in his original texts.

I enjoy a good fantasy myself (I write and enjoy playing RPGs), but there are far better ones out there. The best solution would be to pass. 😉

Answer…“No”.

New American Standard Bible
…but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

And more Bible quotes on the virtue of modesty…

catholicmodesty.com/Biblemodesty.html

Christ told us that if our eye causes us to sin, to pluck it out. If our hand causes us to sin, cut if off.

So, if a game causes us to sin, break it into very small pieces and THROW IT AWAY! Further, vow NEVER to watch anything like that ever again.

In the Bible, Job made a vow of purity with his eyes.

If you like games, fine. I would like the forum to help you on this.

Attention gamers! We routinely come up with these kinds of questions. Are there any wholesome, good, pure alternatives to the above game, one that one wouldn’t lose one’s soul over?

Another way to look at it would be to think of Jesus. Ask yourself, “If Jesus lived today, would he do this?”

Yet another way would be to ask, “If God were watching me (which he is), would it be okay with him?”

Third way to think of it would be, “If EVERYONE did this, would it be okay?”

On this one time, I would agree with your feelings. Even your “gut instinct” seemed to be trying to warn you.

With things like, say, pornography, we are treating women as sex objects, rather than with love and respect.

Further, as Augustine can tell you with his battles with impurity, that first this becomes a habit, and a habit unresisted becomes a necessity.

“If in doubt, throw it out!” …enter through the NARROW door (which means if you are to err, let it be on the side of caution)

Hey all thanks for the replies i mad up my mind and i’m not going to watch it. i found it it’s hard to follow the story. If i cant follow the story then the only thing i can follow is gonna be the nudity etc so not worth ;p
thanks all

Good choice. There are so many other things to do with your time. I’m actually trying to avoid any type of episodic TV series that would “suck me in” and tempt me to put off doing other, important things (work, friends, family, etc.). I watched the first episode of GOT and thought that I just don’t have time for this. I think about the time I wasted on series like “Under the Dome” that could have been put to better use such as reading interesting Wired articles 😉

I here that an added benefit of watching the censored version is that you can watch the first three seasons from beginning to end in under an hour.

You can always read the books. They are explicit too, but there are no images.
