Los Angeles — Documents were released Sunday detailing the years of sexual abuse by Catholic priests in the San Diego Diocese known to catholic.com that led to a $198.1-million settlement with one hundred fortyfor victims in September 2007.

The documents involved priests, most of whose names the diocese disclosed in March 2007. all but a half-dozen are dead.

Although the diocese quickly paid the settlement, lawyers fought in court to limit disclosure of the personnel records, citing personal and medical-record privacy laws.

In the San Diego case, a retired Superior Court judge Friday ordered that thousands of pages of documents be made public.

Since the reform of the Cluny (10th Century) until 1962 the Christian world believed on the statute of limitations.

Jesus, our Lords peace be whit You.
This is a very sad chapter in the history of the Catholic Church, and as a catholic I am so sorry and hope that all this will be done in suchs a way that the outcome will be what we all want it to be. For all those involved in this matter there will be times when memories of those times will be unpleasant. But,as a catholic, and a humble one,who just serve the Church in the best way,as God wants me to,I would think that this forum,no matter how importen this issue is,is not the place to debate for or against,or give “judgments” that are not ours to make, but we should leave this sad topic in the hands of those who have better knowlegde and see the whole picture in a moore reasonable wiew, not meaning that we should shut our eyes or ears to it,just leave this to those who know better. This is my and only mine, wiew on this topic and has nothing to do whit the offical line the Holy Catholic Church may have.

Is there a source for this apparent news story?

I am thinking that there isn’t and that’s why it was posted to this forum rather than the new forum because to post it there you must supply a new source.

But that’s just my guess.
