Certificates for confirmation and First Eucharist

Do they issue certificates for confirmation and First Eucharist as they do for baptism?
 
I did receive a First Communion certificate about 3 weeks after my first Eucharist. I’m sure I will be getting a confirmation certificate because that is an important piece of documentation. It is sometimes required for Church positions or if you want to join a third order.
 
When I joined the Church I received First Communion and Confirmation on the same night, but I only ever received a Confirmation certificate.

Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Orders and Marriage are the only sacraments that must be recorded. That may be why you didn’t receive a certificate of First Communion.

I’d like to know when they started doing this. I certainly didn’t get a certificate when I was baptized, nor did I get one for any of the other sacraments until I got married - of course the marriage certificate was necessary for legal purposes and the others weren’t. I didn’t get Baptism Certificates for my kids either until the day I requested them when they were ready to make their First Communion.

Today kids even get certificates for First Penance and honestly, in some cases, I think certificates are the only reason some parents present their kids for the sacraments. And some kids show more interest in the piece of paper than in the actual celebration of the sacrament.

In reality you don’t need those separate certificates, Confirmation, Marriage and Holy Orders should be entered on your Certificate of Baptism. First Communion is not always recorded so sometimes it’s on the Baptism Certificate, sometimes it isn’t.
