I have to take a certification exam tomorrow for something that is required for my job. And quite frankly, right now I don’t feel a whole lot of confidence that I’m going to pass it.

I’m ashamed of the fact that I only seem to pray and ask for prayers when I want something, but here I am again. 😦 Thank you.

Praying for you to do well on your exam tomorrow & to have success in your job.

Praying for you. And, there no shame in asking for prayers when you want something, especially something important like relating to a job.

Asking Saint Joseph, patron saint of workers to join in intercessory prayer on your behalf.
May God bless you, today and always.
Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (Lost_Sheep), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Well I didn’t pass. 😦

Thank you for trying.
Praying isn’t a magic wand. To be honest I am a little bit dubious about Praying for people taking exams. One still has to study for the exam if they want to pass. We can’t expect God to do everything for us. And I don’t think God is going to give us all the answers to the tests. He is not promoting cheating. 🙂

When you fail something like a certification exam it just means one thing, that you didn’t study enough. You can’t blame God or anyone else for your failure to study. But, failure isn’t the worst thing. It just means you learn from your mistakes and go back and do better next time.

That’s pretty uncharitable. I don’t recall him blaming God for anything.
If you don’t want t pray for someone, then don’t.
But to tell him he should not ask for prayers is not what we Catholics are supposed to do. We support each other in prayer.

Lost, I’m still praying that it can be worked out despite today’s result.
May God protect you and know that many wish you all the best.

It might seem uncharitable to you but I think you misunderstand me. He said that we tried. But it wasn’t us that was doing the trying as if somehow we tried and failed him. People need to take responsibility for their own actions. I have failed exams before. It isn’t up to anyone except you for how you do in an exam. The best i ever did in school was when I stopped blaming others, when I stopped worrying about what others thought or what my teachers thought of me and realized that the marks I got was really up to me and not up to others. I had no one to blame but myself for my failures. After I did that I did quite well at school. I am just sharing some advice from my own experience.

Also a certification is something you can try again.

I’m sorry if I offended anyone, but that wasn’t my intention. God bless you all.
