Happy Shavuot everyone!

And perhaps, also a good night of Torah study tonight 🙂

As you know, Shavuot is the Jewish holiday which celebrates the giving (and re-giving) of the Torah and is the culmination of Passover. Many Orthodox Jews stay up all night studying the Torah. It is a major Holy Day in the Jewish calendar, yet too many Jews are oblivious to it.

Are you staying up all night studying the Torah…???

Have as very wonderful festival.

“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” – Mt 5:18

Could you tell me how you pronounce Chag Sameach? Thank you.
There’s no “Chet” in English. To pronounce the “Ch” try to Imitate an angry / frightened cat hissing at someone. I
Then add the “A” like in Amen, “G” like in G-d and you have the first word.
Sameach is pronounced “Sa” like in Salem “me” like in men, “a” like in Amen again, and then add the hissing cat sound once more at the end and you have it.

It’s not as complicated as it may sound 😊

We had such a good and joyfull time hearing some great stories. Then, no later than at 3 a.m. in the morning, the Rabbi started with his topic which was… Kabbalah. Unfortunately, I was already brain dead by then lol.

Yeah I was surprised that we weren’t many at shul neither yesterday nor today morning 😦

How was (is) Shavout in New York? 🙂

New York City is such a hodgepodge of people of different faiths, different levels of faith, and no faith, that it’s hard to generalize. Kabbalah at any time, let alone 3 AM, can be a challenge.
