I just realized there is a Chaldean Catholic Church not far from me and it looks like they have daily Liturgy. I am quite familiar with the Byzantine Tradition, but have never been to a Chaldean Liturgy.

Do Chaldeans make the sign of the Cross the same way as the Byzantines?

What is proper “Church etiquette” in the Chaldean rite so I don’t look like too much of a fish out of water?

The Syrian Church (Orthodox or Catholic) is NOT the same as the Assyrian Church of the East or her Catholic counterpart, the Chaldean Catholics.

These latter are EAST Syrians. The former (which includes Maronites as a special distinct group) are WEST Syrians.

Both the Chaldeans and Assyrians use a form of the Liturgy of Ss Addai and Mari, which in the Assyrian form does not contain the Institution Narrative. Nevertheless, when Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was head of CDF, he said it was a valid Liturgy.
