Yes, that was me. Like you, I would normally only use a word that’s in at least one of those three online dictionaries, but I found “traddie” in the Catholic Herald, which is a reputable publication written and edited by professional journalists. That gave me the confidence to go ahead and use it here.As a recent example from this thread, “traddies” is a word that appears in none of those three dictionaries, but we’ve seen it here at CAF, and Google finds it at many other Catholic websites, where it means traditional or tradition-minded persons. Therefore it is safe to assume that we all recognize “traddies” as a real English word.
