Sorry to be a nag, but the rule is “change one letter.”

A bit of history about this game: It started out with only letter substitution, not addition or removal. It began with four letters and stayed with four letters for quite some time. After 500 posts in about a week, they ran out of acceptable four-letter words and decided to allow addition and removal (a rule which had been mentioned at Post #91 but not used until it was necessary).
