From browsing on these forums i feel confused and bewildered at how many of you’s are not spreading words of love and care but spreading fear and confusion with your views many of you’s who post on here on a wide range of issues and topics seem to me to be far too harsh yes go by the faith. But most of all spread the love and care to all which is shown through our catholic faith.

Please i am only 18 years of age but in this ever changing world a person as young as myself can see that we should tell others that our catholic faith is one were we can find unity.

If many people disagree which i am sure you’s will please msg me.

Yes and no.

More patience. We’re all struggling. We can all do more to your point. Look for opportunities to add little helps here and there.

I agree Joe. I’m very new to this forum but I know from other forums that it is best to always show love more than being harsh, throwing the bible/cc/papal documents at people. Sometimes the person just wants to be heard. To have someone who will listen to them. We need to show more charity to others inside the Church and outside of it.

I do understand your concern. The Lord made us all individuals. Praise Him!! As someone who is much older and having been very experienced with human nature, I can tell you that people react differently to the same things. Some people feel very strongly about certain topics and are willing to stand toe-to-toe and go at it with someone (figuratively of course) to defend their position. Some view their beliefs in a very black-and-white way, some have more gray area. As long as people aren’t being outright mean to another, I just think of them as “passionate” 😉

That being said, they have the same right to voice that opinion just as you or I do. I’ll tell you what I do, if I find myself following a thread that is getting a little too heated and disturbs my sensibilities a bit too much, I go to another! It’s just like watching TV and something comes on that you don’t like - you turn it off. There are many good things to learn, so please don’t just give up!

C.S. Lewis wrote in Mere Christianity that we are all individuals, some of us are gruff and blunt, some of us are soft and considerate, and many are somewhere in between . We all (I hope) love Christ and each other as we were commanded to do, but because we are all different we will have different ways of showing it (paraphrased of course). Our general disposition is not controlled by God, or Christianity, some Christians smile all of the time, while others never smile, that doens’t make them any less loving. As long as we are all serving God the best we can with what we were given, I think it is all we can expect. Some people look at the letter of the law, and they use the CCC to back themselves up, and they are right to do so. Others let their compassion show through and give answers with love and consideration, and as long as it is not contrary to the Church teaching, then they too are right. I have had priests who were gruff and blunt, loud and outgoing, quiet and loving all totally different. They all showed me the light of Christ, just through different windows. I hope this helps,

It is an act of love to tell someone the truth. The truth is found most of all in the Catholic Faith, which is from Jesus Christ.

When telling people the truth, I often (though not always) find it best to be blunt and not to sugar coat it. If you sugar coat something or speak vaguely, people will often hear what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear. If you are blunt then they will get the point (no pun intended).

As a Catholic Christian I’m much more interested in someone’s soul than in their feelings. If I hurt their feelings, they’ll get over it. If I don’t say something that helps that person avoid Hell then I’ve really done them wrong.
 
Internet forums are not unlike the real world in some aspects…no matter what the discussion, there will be disagreement.

On the other hand, it’s really, really easy to be a litter more “harsh” than we might be in person.
