Hello brothers and sisters, just wanted to share my personal story and see if other’s have had similar experiences.
First off, I’m a former Catholic, Agnostic, Jew, then back to Catholicism and now back to Agnosticism. If that makes any sense
I want to believe there is something bigger and better and that Love will transcend death, BUT I must say that even while I was a Catholic most thought of me as the “cafeteria” variety.
Basically I grew up in the 70s/80s with a deep guilt/shame/fear of the big bad sin of “homosexuality.” As I’ve gotten older (49) I have had dear friend and family come out of the closet. I’ve spent my whole life around them and have talked to them extensively. I cannot in my heart of hearts believe that their love for their same sex spouses and friends is in any way a sin or wrong. In fact more of them are in happier marriages than my own haha. Anyway just putting this out there. I realize this is a Catholic forum, but I was happy to see in real life that most of my Catholic friends actually feel the same way. Thank you for listening.
