Salve,
I don’t normally ask for intentions since it feels awkward, but I’ve realized that if I truly believe that prayers for others have a positive effect, and if I myself pray for others, then it would be hypocritical not to ask for prayers myself occasionally.
This is nothing so horribly serious that it requires immediate and fervent prayer; if you could just include me at the end of a normal Our Father or Hail Mary or whatever little prayer you make up, that would be more than sufficient.
So, why I’m asking for prayer intentions: Lots of things are happening in my life right now. None of them are necessarily bad; all of them have the potential to be.
My parents have just discovered that the financial aid that is required to send me to Catholic High School is no longer being offered (I’m 16). They are trying to work it out, but at the present moment it looks pretty likely that I’ll be going to public High School. The Public High School I’m going to does have some of my friends in it from my Middle School days, but its a huge school; the odds of me seeing any of my friends are low. They also of course no longer have Theology Class, or Reconciliation during Advent and Lent.
Also, the school has a bad reputation. There were, last I checked, 8 major fights there last year, and there are gangs in the school. Nothing so bad that I’m in serious danger, but a tenser atmosphere then my previous school.
On top of all this, my parents are yelling at each other every day about this, and my Father has actually threatened divorce. I doubt he’d actually do it, but the yelling is…excessive, to say the least, and my entire family is stressed by our financial situation. I have no idea how my brother, who’s a year older, or I are going to get to College. We have absolutely no money at all; I don’t even know how we’ll get a car.
Sorry for rambling a bit, this has proven to be quite therapeutic. Like I said, just a quick mention of me at the end of your regular prayers would more than suffice. For those who read the whole thread, thanks for getting through my ramblings. For those praying for me, I am tremendously grateful
