Within the past year, I learned to crochet - first learning the basics and then moving on to more complicated projects.

Then, it occurred to me, that I could turn that skill into making chapel veils for Mass. After experimenting with some patterns, I have created veils of different styles and colors.

The other mothers in my home school group started buying my veils, then other ladies from their parishes asked where they got their veils. I was encouraged to create a website, www.artfire.com/users/vellemere.

It is a joy to do and, I think, time well spent.

I wear veils whenever I am in a Catholic church. I wear it out of respect and reverence for Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Once I was received into the Church, I decided to wear them. I have been doing it ever since. My husband is happy that I do too since my hair can be a distraction for him. So, I wear very long veils .
