Hi
Wondering - What is the difference etween Chapel Veils and Mantillas?
Also, which is more suitable (if one ore than the other)?
Thanks
Amy
🙂

Mantillas are what Spanish and Latin Americans call chapel veils 🙂

The way my mom and I have always called them, the chapel veils are the small circles of lace that sit on the top of the head. A mantilla (which is a spanish word 😉 ) is a larger triangle, that covers the back of the head, sides, and sometimes part of the shoulders.
The more traditionally-minded Catholics tend to prefer the mantilla.
(I wear either.)
God bless!! 🙂

This is the way I think of them too… I prefer a mantilla because the chapel veil reminds me of a doily…

Thanks again 🙂
i now have quite an odd image of me wearing one of my nan’s doilies 😉 …
