Today, Good Friday, begins the 9-day novena prior to the Feast of Mercy we will celebrate on the Sunday after Easter.
In Notebook III, St. Faustina wrote the instructions from Our Lord on how to pray this. If you do not have a booklet containing the novena prayers, you may find them
here at the end of the notebook.
In my little booklet that contains the novena, it states that we begin each day with the prayer for specific persons as Jesus taught her, and then follow this prayer with the actual chaplet of Divine Mercy.
My lenten devotion was to read the entire diary of St. Faustina, and I am into the fourth notebook. I am humbled by the magnitude of graces showered upon this holy nun and feel so privileged to have insights into her soul through her writings. We are indeed blessed by God to have this available to us in print.
I cannot urge our readers strongly enough to embrace this novena which begins today. There is a plenary indulgence granted by the Church under the usual conditions, but besides this noble benefit for our own soul, we may truly obtain sublime graces for many others who are in need of God’s mercy for whom we intercede.
