I have doubts about that devotion. I say this because in the earlier time the church, if one said some prayers, it would lessen the souls in Purgatory; ie. if I said this prayer I would have 500 days taken away from Purgatory.
The Church no longer accepts these prayers that lessen a person’s time in Purgatory.
If what you are saying, and I noticed in was written in 1934, than, everyone should say it and there would be no one in Purgatory.
But if that is what you believe, fine. I would ask your pastor on this matter.

While these prayers may not release 1000 souls from purgatory each time we say them, (this was private revelation and does not have to be accepted) they still can be offered for the souls in purgatory, as can any prayer, and do have an efficacious effect on the suffering souls. Remember, that we as Church Militant, have an obligation to pray for the Church Suffering.
