I don’t see anything wrong with that. Asking for the unfathomable Mercy of God for someone who is going on a hard time for his/her life. 🙂
A good reminder patrick457 -“Unfathomable” …that’s the word… pretty awesome the way our Lord explained it to St. Faustina:

“My Mercy is so great that neither man nor angel could fathom it even were they to contemplate it for all eternity.”

👍

Wow thanks for the many nice comments about my post I certainly wasnt expecting that. I give God the credit though since I asked Him to help me write the right thing.

I also want to fix a mistake I made. I wrote one should pray the Memorare to see what Mary has to say for herself but actually its the Magnificat. Oops well I knew it was something that started with an M 😃

I was thinking the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is for just that. Mercy from God for our sins. Is it right to use it to pray for someone going through hard times …etc…?
I don’t know, igator…But for the Mercy of God - for sinners, the dying - perhaps anyone in need of the Mercy of God? I’d rather have someone praying a chaplet, the Rosary - even a Hail Mary for me for the sake of my spiritual needs. Right now, while everything else in my life is exploding - my spiritual needs are #1, #2 and #3 on my agenda. I BEG the Mercy of God. I don’t think that type of praying the chaplet would be “mis-use”.

I will be thinking of you “ConservativeOne” tonight when I’m praying it before bed.:gopray:

Igator99, I wish that you would try to pray the Rosary. I don’t see anything wrong with your praying the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy as you do, but the Rosary is so beautiful.

The Mysteries are the life of Jesus as taken from the Scriptures.

Why don’t you buy a dvd that you can pray the Rosary along with.

Or, EWTN has Mother Angelica praying the Rosary with the Sisters of her convent several times during the day, and also The International Rosary every day right after the Chaplet of Divine Mercy which airs at 3:00 p.m.

Give it a try - you will like it.👍

Igator99, I found this suggestion on another thread posted by Bella10 and immediately thought of you. Perhaps a CD rather than a DVD would help you to learn the Rosary.

If you’re interested in having the Rosary on CD, you can get it free from www.CatholiCity.com. The CD also has the Chaplet of Divine Mercy on it.👍

*I can only add or rather agree with the many beautiful thoughts posted already. I pray both devotions… Many of my days I am able to participate in a rosary prayed in public in my parish… other times I use the cd listed by the above poster. It is a wonderful cd and great for use in the car.[living in los angeles my commute most days is an hour or more each day so it is nice to be able to focus on spiritual things rather than the rude driver who cut me off that day or the slow driver, etc.

Personally I love both devotions… and use them for many of the people I have promised to pray for each day… some days one seems to fit the needs more than the other… Again the important thing as always is to pray so whatever devotion brings you closer to Our Lord… is good!**

Blessings Of Peace and All Good!

I’m trying to learn the rosary. It is all the mysteries that you are suppose to meditate on that escape me. Even with the paper right in front of me there are some of them I don’t even understand. I was born Catholic but never taught much. Came close to my faith in my early 30’s even had the Rosary down then drifted away in my late 30’s and now back in my early 40’s. I don’t plan on drifting away again.🙂

Igator check out this site. Download the “Virual Rosary” and the “Divine Mercy”.

Here’s another vote for the “Viirtual Rosary”, which can be installed on your computer.

I’m also just learning the rosary so I also find it hard to meditate on the Mysteries when I’m trying to remember what to say! The program “Virtual Rosary” not only gives you the prayers, but for each bead the program shows a picture and displays scripture that recalls the Mystery.

So, so, so helpful!

Igator99, I think you are trying too hard.

Our Blessed Mother will help you with learning the Rosary.

For each Mystery just look at the picture and read the prayer; you may think that you must spend minutes on each Mystery and meditate. That is not necessary and that thinking stops many people from praying the Rosary.

Begin your Rosary by asking your Guardian Angel to stay with you to help you remain focused while praying.

The Rosary is a beautiful telling of the life of Jesus through the Blessed Mother.

Don’t be afraid Igator, after awhile you will be a pro.

👍 :yup: :blessyou:

Great Point! Also if you are still trying to figure our the “mechanics” of it? Why not stop into your local parish a few mornings a week … usually there are groups that recite the rosary… Blessings and I hope you find a comfort in both beautiful devotions.*

I agree Poor Clare, even a visit to his Priest might help.

I am sure any Parish Priest would be pleased to help someone learn the Rosary (at least I would hope so).

And, Igator99, it is not necessary to memorize the prayers.

Eh? Where do you guys live? I live in the NOLA area and there are churches being closed. Priest are few and far between. I can go to confession for a period about 3:00 - 6:00 on Saturday in my area and that is about it for the week. I tried to get an appointment with a priest and was never called back. I would imagine my parish priest is overloaded with work. If you commit a mortal sin on Monday then Woe is the.

I feel as a 42 year old I should have the rosary down pact. Apparently I can’t remember it. I very much appreciate the dude that gave me the link to download the virtual rosary and chaplet of the divine mercy. I will use it an possibly nail the rosary. God bless you all and thank you. :angel1:

Igator99, I feel extremely sorry for you; and I think I should add your Parish Priest to my prayer list. I thought San Francisco was the city with the problem - didn’t know about LA.

I live in Baltimore, MD. so finding a Priest for Confession, or any other need, any day of the week is not a problem;

But, please Igator99, please don’t commit that mortal sin (I know you were not serious)

:o 😉
