Chaput to Kmiec: You Wanted Obama, Now Lobby Him on Abortion
Washington, DC – Catholic apologists for Barack Obama pulled the wool over voters’ eyes with their protests that he would have a pro-life administration and would seek to reduce abortions. Now that Obama has been elected, a top Catholic official is urging the Obama backers to make him make good on his word.

I would say that the Archbishop’s words are valid for each and every Catholic who voted for Obama. You now need to show that your vote saved any unborn children. You MUST actively work to change the democratic party stance that abortion must be available without restriction.

If not, you have blood on your hands.

Peace

Excellent point.
I thought the article by Archbishop Chaput was brilliant. He clearly pointed out the responsibility that Mr. Kmiec and all Catholics who voted for (or campaigned for) Obama really have. If the nation’s abortion-culture is strengthened by Obama and things get worse, then they will indeed have blood on their hands.

Every abortion clinic that could have been shut down by pro-life legislation but which stayed open to commit more abortions is a part of the heavy responsibility also.

I am very frightened by the thought of such things – for all of those Catholics who risked the welfare of their souls for this.

God bless the archbishop for his clear teaching and compassionate guidance.

That’s good, but I don’t recall anyone trying to convince me that Obama would have a pro-life administration. In any case knowing Obama, only an idiot would have believed such a claim. Does not fit his profile.

google " kmiec obama" if you’d like to see some.

Kmiec somehow managed to rationalize his way to thinking that Obama overall would be more pro-life in real effect than McCain.

It doesn’t seem to occur to him that this is so only because catholics like him have sold out on the issue and accomodated the abortionists in favor of some other, lesser issue.

Again, if faithful catholics actually united on the issue and voted as a bloc, abortion would be history inside of 10 years. But because folks like Kmiec give seeming validity to compromised catholics, we have only a fraction of our potential political impact. 😦

umm…WOW, that was cold. Props to Archbishop on the letter. That was just flat out stark.
