Ha - finally a thread I can answer:

Devout Catholic to be head of the household and be the man
Loving and affectionate
Stable
selfless
and on board with the theology of the body

(I would also love a man who would ocasionally rub my back or feet - my idea of heaven on earth.)
That sounds good too!

DON’T FORGET GOOD HYGIENE!!! I believe this is VERY important. If a man has not taken a shower in a year, he will never get a woman to get to know him because no one will go near him. I worked in customer service for many years and met some wonderful people who I would have loved to talk to more, but unfortunately their stench was so horrible that it could have peeled the wallpaper right off the walls. And I’m talking about regular people who have houses and indoor plumbing but for some reason just refuse to use that inexpensive bar of soap. Seriously folks, hygiene can make or break a person.

This is what I’m going to look for:

Orthodox Catholic (and has excellent morals)
Eats healthily & exercises (I’m a major health nut)
Good, loving, caring father
Helps w/ chores and raising the kids and likes a stay at home wife (which is what I want to be)
Frugal
Has a decent job
Is loving, caring, affectionate, and faithful to me (I will keep more things listed in my head… …you get the idea )
Has a sense of humor
Listens & communicates well

Tall, dark, handsom… Couldn’t help it. ^^

Catholic
Loves his faith
Accepting of my faults
Caring
Romantic
Loving
A good father
Healthy
Will drag me to the gym with him and let me drag him to the Opera. ^^

A man with the same qualities of a true Catholic priest and would have been a great priest…but instead God called him to marry.

Most of the above, but also:

The ability to overcome adversity without bitterness.

The ability to be fully Catholic without leaving behind American Indian cultural values.

Definitely the ability to protect and nurture his family.

(I have someone in mind, too.)

As I just said in the other thread I think it’s interesting that there were 39 responses to this thread in just 3 days, whereas there were just 23 responses to the other thread in relation to the ‘character trait most looked for in wives’ in 10 days - why?!
Girls have too much time on their hands? 😛

Just kidding, it could be that (as many of these ladies have displayed) they know exactly what they want in life and have prepared themselves to find it. Preparation is the key to any successful venture and with a decision such as this, one should definitely put thought and time into it.

Could be wrong, but these are my thoughts on the matter.

Cordially, GWofVA 😃

A devout Catholic.
Someone I can respect, respects me, and will help me grow.
Doesn’t use guilt to get what he wants.
A sense of humor, but not obnoxious.
A good work ethic
Takes care of himself (in otherwords: showers/brushes teeth/stays healthy)
Keeps a clean, nice house/apt (doesn’t look like a slum/college dorm)
Likes to read/learn about different things (not willfully ignorant)
Wants children and has the same ideas about raising them
I’m a clutterbug, so someone who will throw something out…occasionally.

Basically the anti-thesis of every man who’s ever been in my life…sigh and If this man does exist I don’t deserve him 😦

ability and motivation to take his shoes and socks off in the garage after golfing or mowing grass.
Yeah, we’re still working on that one (as well as putting the socks in the laundry basket instead of on the floor wherever they were removed). I guess the fact that now he takes off the grassy dirty shoes in the laundry room and leaves them there is improvement. 😃

Seriously though, here’s my list:

Respectful of me, my faith, my interests
Christian
Respectful of his family and mine
Employed and good work ethic
Willing to have/raise children and accepts my NFP stance
Believes marriage is forever- divorce is not an option
No addictions (to substances, porn, gambling, etc.)
Frugal and responsible
Takes care of himself
Good-looking (at least to me)

Fortunately my husband fits the above description quite well. Plus he *cooks *and does the yardwork!
