I wish that each and every priest would insert more piety into the Mass. There is nothing in the GIRM either that prevents the Hail Mary, and at the prayers of the faithful is a perfect spot.
It might help if you got a missal with the eucharistic prayers, see which one he is using, and you may find that your concerns are unfounded.
You may be pre-occupied with the form of Godliness, and not the power thereof. Try attending a Byzantine Mass, and be open minded.
