I am somewhat new at this forum. When I discussed it
(CAF) with the main catechist for my diocese he said he no longer uses this site as a resource. He felt many espoused personal views and tried to turn them into the Church’s stand. He did not feel that this was accurate or helpful. I underrstand that you are speaking for yourself and I happen to agree with you. God bless you on YOUR journey.

I was thinking the same thing about it being an impediment. I find myslef checking in less and less. Thanks for bringing up the elephant in the room.

Matt, you know I agree with you on this and many other issues. However, Sarah’s post hardly seems so kind to CopticChristian, although she is kind to you. Perhaps this is because she is a new member and has not learned the ropes (of charitable discourse) yet.

Try to take a breath and understand. This is marketing disguised as questions. It’s been going on since 1973 (not here, but the idea of it). Take strength in knowing each one of us will suffer by telling the truth.

I don’t always agree with CopticChristian, Sarah, but he’s really not the way you characterize him.

I don’t know that anyone would use the Forums as a resource, since they are only an exchange of views. However, the main Catholic Answers website is most assuredly a good resource for Catholic Doctrine.

Ellipsis, thanks for sharing what the catechist from your diocese expressed. As I’ve said I’ve never pretended to be a Catholic apologist but I have some understanding of what he means. Thanks too for your other nice words to me. God bless you as you consider Catholicism. I’m sure the catechist can continue to be helpful to you as you seek and journey. An Episcopalian priest, who was once Roman, told me several yrs ago now, that if we open our hearts to God’s Spirit, He will tell us where He wants us to be. I think that can ring true for someone considering Catholicism as well. Peace be with your spirit.

I wonder if maybe it could be because of the name it gave itself? I sometimes do wonder as a result if everyone realizes the forum and site is a private lay internet business and not the Church.

I know we do Meltzer but now don’t go thinking I’m Jewish. 😃 I’m sure we disagree on a few things too. That’s ok with me. We’re still from the same Maker in my book. :yup: I actually haven’t followed Coptic much around the forum so I was just replying to Sarah’s words to me. I can’t speak for her but I see she’s already replied. Shalom brother. 👍

Jesus taught us that we are to repent of our sins and sin no more. So it is very, very important to know what is and what isn’t a sin. The miss use of sexual behavior is a serious sin.

I just don’t get it. Why are we becoming irrelevant on the same-sex issue. The Church’s membership is dropping by record numbers. No one believes that we are in the right anymore. I just don’t know what to do.

Don’t despair, TheRealJuliane. CAF has great Mods who see what you and others see. I see this morning that the Mods have taken care of a crop of recent issues (bolding mine above). Of course, there will always be more. The Mods have a tough job and I am grateful for their work behind the scenes. 👍
