Charity: Visiting those in prison

I don’t know anyone in prison, but I had been wondering about the meaning of the charity 🙂

I completely agree with this. To keep on keeping on by faith - instead of the reward of knowing you made a difference, must be of inestimable value to God.

I’m sorry you went through that, it must be very hard. I am wondering if it’s a difference in location. Would you mind telling us the country or general area where you were incarcerated?
 
I don’t know what your state’s penal system is like but here in the PNW a person doesn’t just walk in to a prison or jail and visit a prisoner. First off the prisoner can deny to see you. and secondly you must be on the approved list of visitors for that prisoner.

I know this because it took several months for us to get approval to visit a friend who was incarcerated. Once approved, we visited several times. It was a most rewarding experience. I was also able to put a “bug” in the ear of our Vicar for Clergy. Seems that there had been no Catholic clergy to visit the facility for many months. Hopefully that has changed.
