I never did buy into all the hullabaloo aboput Diana. Regardless of how we try to cannoinize her you have a women who was unfaithful to her Husband on numerous occasions and was shacked up with a man not her husband at the time of her death. Not a very good role model and a terrible example to her children.
Not to mention the sickening way the media presented her as the first person ever to touch or care for an AIDS victim (Many people, mostly Catholic, had been caring for them for years, before Diana had her quick photo-op and then nicked back to her palace) and that she was responsible for the ban on land-mines (she came in to the campaign at the 11th hour after others had been working on it for 20 years and had already achieved virtually universal agreement among national leaders).

And then she chooses to get in a car with her partner in adultery, orders a man who must have been so drunk he could barely walk, to drive her at twice the speed limit, chooses not to wear a seat belt, and is almost inevitably killed. And we are told that somebody else is to blame! Most sickening of all is that this low-life gets mentioned in the same breath as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta because they happened to die at about the same time.

And her “beauty”? Come on, her looks were very ordinary. No doubt any woman who was given millions to spend on clothes, jewellery, makeup and hairstyling could manage to look “beautiful”. Now Blessed Teresa, she WAS beautiful, wrinkles and all.

I say, you are being very uncharitable toward Princess Diana, saying thing you couldn’t possibly know for sure… :tsktsk:

What are things we dont know for sure-she admited she had affairs while maried to Charles and she made no attemot to hide the fact she was shacking up with Dodi(or whatever his name was)

I am at a loss as to why so many people admired this woman.

This thread has never really been on topic and has now degenerated into uncharitable gossip. Closed.
