I know that dissident theologian Rev. Charles Curran has a new book. Has anyone found a rebuttal to his arguments that is faithful to the actual teachings of the church? Thanks! (I don’t actually want to buy his book just to be able to refute it!). Deni

I am not sure which book you are talking about. Loyal Dissent: Memoir of a Catholic Theologianis not die out until May of this year so it would be hard to refute something that has not been published. To refute something, you must the completely familiar with the arguements and the context that they are presented.

To do this you must either read the book and research rebuttals or read something somebody has already published (i.e. The rebuttals to the Da Vinci Code). Since Curran’s stuff will not cause a stir like the Da Vinci Code did, the second option will probably not be likely.

I am asking about his book “The Moral Theology of Pope John Paul II” in which Charles Curran criticizes JPII without bothering to including JPII’s Theology of the Body talks. I would like to hear arguments that answer the criticisms that CC posits.
