Cox dropped it quite a while ago.
Cox still carries EWTN in the Cleveland market as a free channel. Maybe it has something to do with large number of Catholics, Roman and Eastern Rite, in its market. Parma, for example, is the home of the Eparchy of Parma, has three other Eastern Rite churches, including a Ukranian Catholic Cathedral and at least 5 Roman Rite churches. This is all in a city of about 85-90,000.

You can still watch EWTN here. Just mouse over EWTN’s Television link, and go down to Live TV - English. The higher the number (bandwidth), the higher quality it is, but also requires a higher speed. I have Comcast Cable, and use the 500K option. BTW, Comcast still has EWTN in my area.

Here in Connecticut Cox cable carries EWTN with no extra charge. I wish more local priests and bishops would watch it more.

I live in Chicago and subscribe to Comcast. I used to get EWTN on Channel #35. It has now moved to Channel #119.

I still get EWTN thru DISH network.I’ve tried watching or listening over the internet but that hasn’t worked well for me.Can also listen via the radio.I’ve heard some of the EWTN priests talk about this same problem…lot of shut-ins and nursing home folks have lost their only connection to the Catholic church.

BTW… EWTN is coming to DeKalb October 4-5th at NIU.I’ll be there…anyone else going??

Comcast moved EWTN (and a few other channels) over to the digital-only lineup, so I temporarily lost them. Then they sent me a coupon good for one year of free upgrade to digital service (after the first year, it’s $3.95 extra per month).

I went for the upgrade, so I now have EWTN back again. It’s better than before, because on the old lineup, EWTN had to share the channel with INSP, and now I get two separate channels with just EWTN on them, 24 hours a day (there are two other channels that have INSP 24 hours a day). I also get another channel, called “The Catholic Channel”; I’ll have to check that one out, too.

I plan on keeping the digital service after the free trial runs out; it’s worth the $3.95 just to have the interactive program guide, and the “On Demand” feature is a lot of fun.

I’m glad I don’t have to rely on my PC to watch EWTN – those here who have followed the “Today Is” thread know of my ongoing (and dopey) PC saga. 😃

If worse comes to worse, you can always get Dish tv. It’s on channel 261 all the time. It’s no more expensive than cable, and you get a better picture. EWTN and RFD tv is the reason we got Dish tv in the first place.
