Thank you all, it’s also due to you that at last I understood I want to remain chaste.
Best post I have read here in a long time!

If I could give you a BIG motherly hug, I would. My son was 17 when he gave up his virginity, and at the time he was “in love” with his girlfriend, who was supposedly on the pill to prevent pregnancy. He was using condoms as well. I found the “Plan B” package in one of his drawers, which meant that they had been scared enough to use that, and he told me that a condom had broken.

She broke up with him after a year and his heart was shattered. You see, Hakon, God created our bodies to bond together with our spouse and no other. When you have sexual intercourse with your wife, your body releases chemicals to make that bond strong, like super glue. But when you do this with someone who is NOT your wife, your body still creates the bond, but then you break up, and the bond is destroyed. If you do this time and time again, your heart, mind, body and soul become numb to what God’s best intentions for you were.

It is like a piece of tape. You put the tape on a surface and it is very sticky. Then you pull off the tape, and put it onto another surface. Less sticky. The 3rd time, a LOT less sticky, and after that, the tape probably hardly sticks at all.

By the time your wife comes along, you not only have less of the intensity of the original bond, but your mind is filled with images of all those other women. You know THEIR bodies better than you know your wife’s body. If you think this doesn’t cause pain and all sorts of societal problems, you would be WRONG. Just consider what your mind is left with after enjoying sex with women who will eventually become other men’s wives. What a mess.

God bless you Hakon. You have chosen the right path. Hang in there, and pray the rosary when you feel tempted to masturbate. You may not see the harm in that, but it turns your sexual gifts inward, and when you fantasize or use pornography to excite yourself, again, you are putting images into your mind that will never fully be removed.

Hang in there, I will certainly add you to my prayers.

I’m very happy you gave me this answer, in which you share a hard part of your life. And I thank you again, for your prayers and blessings. Thanks.
P.S.:My name is not really Hakon, that isn’t an Italian name, but I would like to have it (Also because it was the name of one of the first Christians Norwegian kings)

I figured that wasn’t your name, thanks for telling me about the Norwegian origin of the name you chose. I was thinking it was Japanese, from an anime’.

You have made the right decision and you will have no regrets. Remember to run away from temptation. My son told his story to other young men in a retreat he led, so he hopes that he has helped someone else not to make the same mistakes. If he were on this forum, he would echo what I have told you. He still struggles with temptation. The further away from temptation you stay, the better off you will be, now and long-term.

Anyway, did Jesus tell us to go out and do whatever the culture is doing? No, he said we’re to be “in the world but not OF the world.” Stand up and show the world around you that Jesus asks more of us than just doing what the rest of the world does. They may not understand sin like we do. That doesn’t let US off the hook for our transgressions.

I supposes you figured 😉
You’re right again.
I have other questions, about war (I wanted to be an army officer) and violent sport (I love football, I also played) that I will post if I don’t find already threads talking about my doubts. Perhaps we’ll meet again in another discussion.
