Why is it some seem to cheat death? Have you heard this expression? I assume God has more for them and there is a purpose for everything.
I don’t believe there is such a thing as cheating death. Death comes to us all when it is God’s plan. Why is it some seem to cheat death? Have you heard this expression? I assume God has more for them and there is a purpose for everything.
actually in a video game you can cheat deathI don’t believe there is such a thing as cheating death. Death comes to us all when it is God’s plan.
I took “cheating death” to be just an expression, for when we (or someone we love) has a near brush with death.I don’t believe there is such a thing as cheating death. Death comes to us all when it is God’s plan.
Is this an illustration of a fairytale? This thread makes me think of this woodcut by Gustave Dore’.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rime_of_the_Ancient_Mariner The woodcut said more about me “cheating death” then words. TimEventually, in an eerie passage, the ship encounters a ghostly vessel. On board are Death (a skeleton) and the “Night-mare Life-in-Death” (a deathly-pale woman), who are playing dice for the souls of the crew. With a roll of the dice, Death wins the lives of the crew members and Life-in-Death the life of the mariner, a prize she considers more valuable. Her name is a clue as to the mariner’s fate; he will endure a fate worse than death as punishment for his killing of the albatross.
I’m missing something here. What has a forest scene wth a girl and a deer got to do with the Rime of the Ancient Mariner which is set at sea? It’s from “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner”. Dore’ did woodcuts for “Inferno”, Paradise Lost", “The Crusades”, “The Divine Comedy”…hundreds more.dore.artpassions.net/

Its in post #11 in this thread.I have the cut of “the game is done” which depicts death and the pale lady rolling dice for souls on the ghost ship. I don’t see a “girl and deer”. Maybe their website is mixing up the links because they sell prints, I dunno?
