Cheating on Good Friday Fast

I fasted correctly all day long and woke up after midnight and ate some t hings I was so hungry. Is this a sin and if so how big of a sin is this. Venial or mortal? I started the divine mercy novena, will this sin affect that novena?

The fast ends at midnight so you didn’t cheat. Also, you are allowed two small meals that do not equal your big one anyways.

No sin at midnight a new day begins saturday which is not a day of fast and abstinence. there was no cheating done.
 
My 20- and 17-year-old daughters did an emergency midnight run to Taco Bell!
 
See, the reason I think I sinned is because I had something to eat after midnight the night before, which means it was good friday. So I didnt do a full 24 hours of correct fasting. I ate (a big snack) at like 1am on good friday. Then at 12:30 had a bagel and cream cheese. then at five I had a full meal. then at 12:30 had another big snack.

After midnight it was Friday, you should have fasted but it looks like you did. You are not suppose to eat in between meals and you are only to have three meals two small the bagel fits that and one large. If you are bothered, just mention it in confession. My belief is that you were just fine.
