It could be a simple statement that birth and death are a part of each person’s life that cannot be escaped or some such thing. Otherwise, don’t ask me what any artist means by anything these days. It’s just about impossible to tell!

I don’t know, it makes me think of Athena springing from the head of Zeus. Did you notice that the baby’s hand looks like the hand of an adult?
