Good for him!

Good explanation as well. I hope it works; meaning that I hope people are actually willing to hear him out and understand what he’s saying.

Little by little we’re making progress. One Mass at a time. One parish at a time.

In fact the regulations kinda assume ad orientem, if I understand correctly what has been said.

I’m glad this isn’t my parish. I’d hate to have to leave for either the season of Advent or permanently, but I would definitely go elsewhere for Mass.

Okay, but there’s already a parish close by (St. John Cantius) which does AO, Latin OF, and the EF, so I suppose this won’t be that much of a shock on the attendees at this parish.

Perhaps for the same reason you do. Or perhaps not.

In part it speaks volumes about rejecting the normal way Mass is celebrated in this country and largely stands as a symbol of rejection of things I value. It’s much the same kind of symbol as a priest wearing a cassock or the ordinary of the Mass being in Latin. If you like it, that’s great. But I don’t and would check out other parishes.

And don’t bother to tell me that these things are allowed. I know they are. It’s a matter of preference and my preference is different.

that’s perfectly fine- I did not mean to be aggressive or attacking in manner. God Bless!

I wouldn’t say it is a rejection…I mean, the guide books kinda just presuppose ad orientum for most the Mass, telling one to turn to face the crowd at times.

But, during these times one has various options in celebrating Mass, and the faithful have many different places to go with the availability of vehicles which allow cross parish and cross city travel

Right. Merely having Mass Ad Orientem or wearing a cassock does mean one is rejecting anything. I mean, the Pope wears a Cassock. Merely liking “tradition” does not mean you are rejecting the way it is now.

You weren’t aggressive and I apologize if I came off that way. The key thing is that we’re all brothers and sisters in Christ.
