Are there many chile like relationships or only one relationship and many variations? How do we know which is the right one for us?

I think many…
God isn’t so simple that he can be defined into a single personality…

Children have different relationships with different people…
Mother
Father
Siblings
Friends

All are very unique…

But I think with God we can have all those different types of relationships… the nurturing nature of a mother, the authoritative nature of a father, the unitive nature you can have with a sibling, etc, etc…
And I think God is even BIGGER than the human “personalities” that I defined above.

But I do think they are unique and different depending on that exact moment in time. Do we approach God in a “nurturing” relationship when we need correction? No… it’s more “authoritative” at that time. So it can be different at any moment.

I agree and think myself that God although He never changes in that He is love and is perfect He does change His mind at times though for the better and sometimes for the worse. Sometimes I think that God even relates to a childish attitude as for instance Hezekiah who was given a short time to live told by Isaiah and the King cried out to God “I’ve been good all these years give me 15 more years". Isaiah was told by God to go back tell the King that God would give it to him. The king had another son in that time and the son undid all the good works his father dhad done. The son went into Bahlism and the people followed away from God.

God want’s our childlike relationship of denial of the flesh (I believe) but even when His people get it wrong He still hears them and at times will give then what they want, saddly to say.

God bless

Well, through this God wanted to tell us something big - when we pray or ask anything, it is better to always end with “Thy will be done”.

There was a similar story in a Catholic magazine that this person had a healing gift, and normally when he prayed for someone to get heal, that person would get heal. There was one time, he prayed for this young man to get healed and he tried many times until his answer got granted. The young man got healed, but later on in life, this young man killed someone else.

The main point here is that it is better to ask God according to His Will …not our will.

Thank you I guess there are many of these stories but the key to it all is to want God’s will to be done.
I used to have some women ask if I could pray for them to have longer legs so they could be taller. I used to tell them the story of the king and hope to disuede them, generally it would workbut I couldn’t pray that way since it was a pridefull desire.
