For over 10 years, grown child practice’s and believes in the Dark side. The word start’s with the letter S…
Raised her Roman Catholic and homeschooled her with Catholic textbook’s, etc. for 9 year’s. Now after 2 year’s of
not seeing the Grand Kid’s, who are 8 years and 5 years are coming to visit with her. Our priest said we should have nothing to do with her, yet we wish
to see our Grand Children, and it is not the Native way to shun one’s child.
Kind of a difficult situation, as the children have also been taught this Dark
way of belief, and would want we would want to take them to Holy Mass with us so as to allow them to view the Light and Goodness of Christ.
Only seen my child 7 times in 10 years, and the Grand-Children 4 times in 8 years.
Rather sad and tragic, yet life is full of unfortunate circumstances that cannot be foreseen or expected most of the time.
Looking for a few reality checks from some of you good folk’s on if the holy Priest is right in telling me and my husband, to have absolutely nothing to do with her or them?

Now that I see so many reply’s to this humble post I wish I had never
written these sad words. Suppose there is no way to delete it. Sigh…

Wish now that no post had been put here asking for feedback from folks.
Foolish. Perhaps it is best not to post much unless one has been here for
awhile.
Thanks for reading the sad story and moving on. So it goes…

I’m not really sure what to say. But I do know that prayer is definitely in order. Say a rosary every day for her and the grandkids. Fasting as much as possible without endangering your health is another thing you can do along with prayer. Remember St. Monica, St. Augustine’s mother? I think she prayed every day for about 16 years before he converted.

I would also add that if communicating with her in any way is an occasion of sin for you, then you should listen to your priest. Others here may be better able to direct you in that respect.

You and yours are in my prayers.:signofcross:

God Bless,
Snert

I’m certainly hesitant to contradict your priest, but considering the ages of your grandchildren you may want to speak to a different priest. With out being graffic, certain practices of some cults can be abusive, to say the least, to children. How about contacting your diocese and asking to speak with a priest who is experienced or specializes in the occult and deliverance ministry.

I also think the previous poster was also right on target with he importance of prayer and fasting.

Thank you Snerticus for your kind (name removed by moderator)ut. We appreciate your beautiful
suggestion’s, which are excellent reminder’s of the very real Power of the
Rosary and fasting. Bless you for taking the time to write a few words !

How grateful we are for your good words Pierced77.
Yes, you are so right about the possibility of other associated, highly negative
traits taught to the children when one is a practitioner of evil. Have
reflected on that many times over the years.
Thank you for your words of support and (name removed by moderator)ut. It meant a lot to us to read
your reply.

Rose I feel for you and will keep your daughter and your grandchildren in my prayers and Masses.
Your priest is anxious for you,and I don’t know what another priest or even your Bishop would say,
but you are this family’s hope of conversion. You are the one who may be able to convey God’s light and love to your family.

I pray that you will know the blessed thing to do, and that Jesus who talked and walked and ate with sinners, will show you what He wishes you to do.
I ask Jesus to guide you and to surround you with His light and love.

May the Angels fill your home and keep watch over you, protecting you from all harm, and beckoning to your family to find the Lord Jesus.

Arm yourself with this prayer.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Thank you so very much Trishie for your most kind words that you chose
to share. Your caring thoughts are so good and helpful.
Whilst reading your good sharing I wept for the first time in many Moon’s, as my soul was deeply moved.
Had not shared this burden with anyone except that Priest for a few minutes
last year.
The Saint Michael Invocation is one of my favorite and it was quite empowering
to read it in written word that you took the time to type.
God Bless you and your’s as well kind lady.

I can only offer my opinion, but I know that if she were my child with my grandchildren, I would love them unconditionally and nothing would keep me from communicating with them. You still have to love your daughter even though you may not love her ways. Do not miss the opportunity to show her that. Who knows, by fervent prayer you may be able to plant the seed that the Holy Spirit will nurture. I would ask permission from your daughter to take the grandchildren to Holy Mass. Let her have the chance to cooperate or not. If you let her know that you are concerned and praying for her, she may not take it to heart right then, but she will appreciate it and it may open the door for further relationship and dialogue down the road. After all, if she has been out of your lives for a while, then she obviously wants to have contact with you for a good reason. The only stipulation that I would make clear to her is that she respect your wishes and not bring any spellcraft materials, or whatever, into your home. Pray to Saint Michael, our Mother Mary, and my favorite devotion, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. It is a tough situation you are in, but always have faith that things will work out. God may use you to bring back your daughter or your grandchildren. Shunning them will rob you of that possibility of openness to show your daughter and the grandchildren God’s unconditional love for us.

Thank you very much Health Bar for your good words!

I totally agree with what you share about not shunning her, and regardless of what the Priest said, have not shunned her for the last ten years that she has chosen this trail.

To read someone else’s same thoughts on this is exactly the support, or reality
check I seem to need right now, as she is driving from several state’s away to bring the dear Grand Children to us and drop them off for a few week’s. This shall happen when their school is out, and it has been 2 year’s now since we saw them.

Yes, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is so very powerful. I appreciate your wonderful
reminder.
You are very kind to have taken the time to write good words about this ongoing
concern faced daily.
God Bless You!

Rose I ask the Lord to keep you, your daughter and her family in my daily Masses and Communions even if I don’t specifically think of you at the time. I ask Him to keep in me for you all, prayer that God’s light and love will surround you.

I’m sure that your love, which is God’s love in you, will bless their souls and their lives.

Your endeavor’s for us Trishie are good, and we are very grateful for this
gesture.
We are deeply touched by your kindness and concern.
