ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - The Child Victims Act passed in the New York State Legislature on Monday more than a decade after the bill was introduced.
The bill passed with unanimous support in the NY Senate and passed in the Assembly by a vote of 130-3.
The bill would extend the statute of limitations for civil and criminal cases involving victims of childhood sexual abuse. . . .
The attorney general likely in process of a Pennsylvania-style grand jury here.
More to come. Probably within a year . . . .
- Create a one-year window during which presently time-barred civil claims could be revived.
