Children's Church History Curriculum?

Hey Folks,

My wife and I (ok mostly my wife) homeschool our 3 children. I’ve recently returned to the Catholic Church in the last year and brought my formerly Reformed wife with me.

We’ve been loving what we’re learning about Church History - the real stuff, not Loraine Boettner’s version…

Does anyone know of some good books or curriculum for Church History for grade school age kids?

I don’t know how young you’re looking for but Kolbe Academy (kolbe.org) offers Catholic Bible History at the second and third grade level. You can buy the books and lesson plans without enrolling or they allow single-course enrollment which would provide advisor support and record/transcript keeping for that course.

If you’re into Unit Studies, History Links is a wonderful Catholic unit study. It is fully Catholic, rich in history, and is very easy to use. It lends itself well to multiple age groups too!
 
I’ve been up to my eyeballs in homeschool curric research the past few weeks. In addition to the history links you could look at the rc history. Both are whole family curriculums that integrate subjects but rc history is more classical style. I’ve pulled all the books off the book list and it looks to be quite thorough on church history. I can’t speak for history links because I can’t get at the book lists via the web but I’ll definitely be using 1 of these 2 programs-hopefully I can get my hands on a history links at a conference before I have to make a final decision.
 
Check out the history books from Catholic Heritage Curriculum…they are very Catholic.
 
Just as a follow-up, we decided to go with Catholic History Curriculum and are VERY pleased with it.
 
I’m interested in that - who is the publisher? Do you have a link?

We’ll be finishing The Story of the World curriculum this year, which is very “protestant-y”. I’ve been supplementing where I can to tell the Catholic side of the story, but I wasn’t worried because we plan to use the Christ the King books in a couple of years, which is unabashedly Catholic. I just have 6th grade left with no History curriculum, and I thought a straight-out Church History would be great.
