I want to offer a novena for certain intentions within my family, namely that my wife (a lukewarm cradle Catholic) would return to regular attendance at Mass and reception of the sacraments; and also for the restoration of my wife’s relationship with her oldest daughter, which is very strained right now.

Can anyone recommend a specific novena text suitable for my situation? I would be especially interested if there is a text designed for a 54-day novena or other type of extended novena.

Thank you!

St. Apollonia although the prayer is on my laptop and this is my tablet so I shall return soon with it.

There is the 54 day rosary novena that you could do for that intention. Otherwise the novena to St. Monica would be perfect for your wife’s conversion and strained relationship with her daughter.

You should try praying for the holy souls in purgatory and asking God to grant your requests through the holy souls in purgatory’s prayers and intercession…they can obtain prayer requests fast for those who help them

I’ve copied and pasted two testimonies for you to read (because they are about similar petitions you wanted to pray for) they are from this website

The healing of family relationship

Kim’s family refused to have anything to do with her for a whole year due to their own disturbed attitudes. Kim was really distressed. She offered up a whole month of her merits for the Holy Souls in Purgatory and repeated this offering for nine days in a row, (as is the custom when saying a novena). On the tenth day she was reconciled with her family.

A conversion

I offered up a plenary indulgence for whoever (in purgatory) God would give it to, and then my husband, whom I have known for 15 years and who has never been interested in becoming a Catholic, (the opposite in fact), decided to start going to weekly mass, learning more about the church, and he asked me to register our children in a Catholic school, Miraculous! I had been praying fervently for this for years! This miracle could have also been the result of many years of prayers said by myself, our children, relatives and friends. In addition, my 14 year old son, decided to enter into a more prayerful life for lent and felt that he had few things to pray about - the most important of these intentions was for his dad’s conversion. It was during lent that this conversion occurred. The day that I offered up my plenary indulgence was on February 11, the 150th anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady of Lourdes to St Bernadette. (anonymous)

I am an auxiliary of the Legion of Mary so I already pray the 5-decade rosary every day. I want to offer some prayers in addition to that, but I don’t think I could do an additional 5 decade rosary in the same day. That’s why I was hoping to find some novena that has its own specific prayers.

I also belong to the St. Monica Sodality and recite the sodality prayer daily. So I could do the St. Monica novena but since I am already asking her intercession each day, I thought it would be more powerful to use a novena to some other saint.

Thanks.

Thanks, Crystal, for the link to the Holy Souls Novena. After praying it, I felt I received many blessings around Christmas. Thanks be to God and to the Holy Souls!
