Does anyone have a recommendation for a good Catholic book on the choirs of angels and possibly the 7 archangels?

Thank you in advance for you thoughts.

If you go to the EWTN Library online, there are NUMEROUS articles on the theology of Angels.

Angels and Demons by Peter Kreeft

The Church only recognizes those three with a feast day as saint as they are the only ones named in Scripture as saint. As for how many there are 7 is the excepted number by tradition.

Traditionally the church only recognizes 3 Archangels. How ever I’m one of those who believes there is 7 total and I’m Catholic.

Here are 3 books about angels that I have read. They are very good.

–The Angels: The Catholic Teaching on the Angels
Parente, Rev. Fr. Pascale

–All About the Angels
O’Sullivan O.P., Rev. Fr. Paul

–Angels and Demons: What Do We Really Know about Them?
Peter J. Kreeft

The first one is probably the more advanced one theologically speaking.
The second one is more basic but it bring in more examples of more current angelic appearances, such as the angel who appeared to Lucia, Fransico, Jasinta of Fatima prior to our Blessed Mother appearing to them and delivering her messages.

The last one is a great book but it is from a Catholic philosophical point of view.

I highly recommend these three and the Summa Teologica. Though all 3 refer to the Summa, it was St. Aquinas who first develop a basis for Catholic angelic doctrine.
