I did this once the day I had my colonoscopy. I bowed (or genuflected)to the Sacred body (But didnt go all the way up to the priest ) then went to the Precious blood (and only let it touch my lips) A couple of times I have noticed someone doing a similar thing. If I am receiving the body, blood, soul and divinity in the precious blood I don’t feel the need for a blessing.(and we don’t do that at our parish anyway)

“extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist” is what is being used on Vatican Documents, specifically by the current Pope.

vatican.va/holy_father/john_paul_ii/homilies/1989/documents/hf_jp-ii_hom_19891007_seoul_en.html
That is the english text of a speech given by JPII back in 1989 and it is a “Vatican Document” only in the strictest sense. For the Vatican Document that is germain to this discussion you can refer to:
Redemptionis Sacramentum

I apologize to the OP as this has gone way off topic.

You all heard the ruling. But if anyone continues with some of the issues here in a new thread, please post a link here so it will be easy to find - I’m particularly interested in what MusicMan promised to discuss.

Thanks:thumbsup:

Speak to your priest how he wishes it to be handled if you don’t think you can easily and reverently go to the cup and bypass the Eucharist while in line. We have a few parishioners at our Church who cannot have wheat and they go up and receive from the cup when the Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist receive.
I think you mean bypass the Host, as the reception of the Blood of our Lord is part of receiving the Eucharist. 😉

You are correct. Both the Sacred Host and the Precious Blood are the Eucharist. Both species are the complete Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus.
