I would like to know the difference between the teachings of jesus and the teachings of Buddha.
Does they have the same meanings?
Will Buddha be denied by god, although he has valid teachings?
Thank U

Define ‘‘valid teachings’’ please.

As for the final destination of Siddartha Gautama, it is for God alone to decide, and as he was born before Jesus came to Earth it is difficult to speculate.

Welcome to CAF!

Hi

Welcome here.

The ranking of Buddha and Jesus is to be decided by God Allah.

As for status: Buddha, Krishna,Abraham, Zoroaster, Socrates, Moses and Jesus etc is the same. They are truthful Messengers Prophets of God Allah Parmeshar YHWH; He selected them for His profound love and revealed unto them Word from Him.

They are all the fruits or flowers of the humanity; and we must respect and love them all. This is in short the teachings of Quran, and I will rejoice in explaining more.

I love Jesus and Mary as I do love Buddha and Krishna.

Thanks

There’s no need to shout.
The differences include the following:
  1. Siddhartha (the Buddha) led a reform movement within Hinduism that was basically rejected by mainstream Hindus and became a separate religion because he denied the need to know who the gods are and the caste system. He sought a “Middle Way” between ascetic self-torment and self-indulgence, one of moderation and calm mindfulness.
Jesus Christ declared Himself, not a reformer of Judaic tradition, but the fulfillment of it. He said He is the Way. Though both taught moderation, Christ didn’t consider it nearly enough.
  2. Hinduism is profoundly different from the Judeo-Christian tradition because it posits reincarnation, a kind of polytheism, and the unreality of the observable world. Judeo-Christian tradition posits a single life and then judgment and eternity, monotheism, and the reality and goodness though also corruptedness of the observable world.
  3. The Buddha (“Enlightened One”) taught that seeking balance and one’s own “right” way of life, whatever that might be, would end desire, thereby ending suffering. Jesus Christ taught that following the commandments, especially the commandments to love God and one’s neighbor (everyone), and becoming baptized in His Name, and believing Him, and receiving His Body and Blood with belief, would not necessarily lead to a life without suffering, but would lead to an eternal reward: being with God.
There is more to the difference, but that’s a beginning.
What God has chosen to do regarding Buddha is unknown in this world.

I would like to know the difference between the teachings of jesus and the teachings of Buddha.
Their teachings on morality and behaviour are very similar:
“Love others as you love yourself.” - Bhadramayakaravyakarana sutra 91

“Love others as you love yourself.” - Mark 12:31
The major difference I can see in practical terms is the greater emphasis on meditation in Buddhism.

The two theories behind their teachings are very different; the Buddha’s theories build on a Hindu background while Jesus’ theories build on a Jewish background.
Does they have the same meanings?
In terms of what you should, and should not, do their ideas are very similar.
Will Buddha be denied by god, although he has valid teachings?
One of the fourteen unanswered questions in Buddhism is the status of the Buddha after he died. Your question is not answerable.

Will Buddha be denied by god, although he has valid teachings?
Hi

GodAllahParmesherYHWH is most Merciful and Most-Wise. In my opinion, He will honour him for his wisdom and show him all his love and mercy.

If God could be kind to Krishna, Moses and Jesus; why can’t he do the same for Buddha.

Do you think Buddha did any wrong to annoy God Allah?

Please

I love Buddha as I do love Krishna, Jesus and Mary

Thanks

Well, I know it sounds trite but Buddha didn’t die in the place of sinners.

Part of the problem is the assumption that Christianity is, primarily, a moral system.

Christianity has a moral system, and we speak of Christian ethics and so on and they are often quite similar to those of Buddhism, but Christianity is, more than anything else about God becoming man in order to die in our place and bear the penalty for our sin. This is the departure point.

And even if you don’t subscribe to the penal theory, Christianity universally holds to a belief in the fall and a redemption from that fall to be found solely in the God-man Jesus; however the “economics” of that are worked out.

Buddha’s realization that life is suffering is close to a recognition that human beings are flawed and fallen, but he never really explains why they are that way and the best his remedy can get you is, quite literally, nothing.

I’ll let Chesterton speak for me:
Code:
The great example of this alleged identity of all human religions
is the alleged spiritual identity of Buddhism and Christianity.
Those who adopt this theory generally avoid the ethics of most
other creeds, except, indeed, Confucianism, which they like
because it is not a creed. But they are cautious in their praises
of Mahommedanism, generally confining themselves to imposing
its morality only upon the refreshment of the lower classes.
They seldom suggest the Mahommedan view of marriage (for which
there is a great deal to be said), and towards Thugs and fetish
worshippers their attitude may even be called cold. But in the
case of the great religion of Gautama they feel sincerely a similarity.
Code:
Students of popular science, like Mr. Blatchford, are always
insisting that Christianity and Buddhism are very much alike,
especially Buddhism. This is generally believed, and I believed
it myself until I read a book giving the reasons for it.
The reasons were of two kinds: resemblances that meant nothing
because they were common to all humanity, and resemblances which
were not resemblances at all. The author solemnly explained that
the two creeds were alike in things in which all creeds are alike,
or else he described them as alike in some point in which they
are quite obviously different. Thus, as a case of the first class,
he said that both Christ and Buddha were called by the divine voice
coming out of the sky, as if you would expect the divine voice
to come out of the coal-cellar. Or, again, it was gravely urged
that these two Eastern teachers, by a singular coincidence, both had
to do with the washing of feet. You might as well say that it was
a remarkable coincidence that they both had feet to wash. And the
other class of similarities were those which simply were not similar.
Thus this reconciler of the two religions draws earnest attention
to the fact that at certain religious feasts the robe of the Lama
is rent in pieces out of respect, and the remnants highly valued.
But this is the reverse of a resemblance, for the garments of Christ
were not rent in pieces out of respect, but out of derision;
and the remnants were not highly valued except for what they would
fetch in the rag shops. It is rather like alluding to the obvious
connection between the two ceremonies of the sword: when it taps
a man’s shoulder, and when it cuts off his head. It is not at all
similar for the man. These scraps of puerile pedantry would indeed
matter little if it were not also true that the alleged philosophical
resemblances are also of these two kinds, either proving too much
or not proving anything. That Buddhism approves of mercy or of
self-restraint is not to say that it is specially like Christianity;
it is only to say that it is not utterly unlike all human existence.
Buddhists disapprove in theory of cruelty or excess because all
sane human beings disapprove in theory of cruelty or excess.
But to say that Buddhism and Christianity give the same philosophy
of these things is simply false. All humanity does agree that we are
in a net of sin. Most of humanity agrees that there is some way out.
But as to what is the way out, I do not think that there are two
institutions in the universe which contradict each other so flatly
as Buddhism and Christianity.

I don’t know what God will do to Buddha but i know that Buddhism and Christianity , seeing them as a whole, are totally opposing, the reliance only on oneself in Buddhism and the reliance only on God in Christianity being two opposing teachings.

Will Buddha be denied by god,
Hi

Now the things have become mixed up.

Do you mean by God , the one who never had a son or wife, or the CatholicGod Jesus?

This is necessary to understand the posts in this thread clearly.

I love Jesus and Mary as I do love Buddha and Krishna.

Thanks

I agree that this is the main difference between Christianity and Buddhism.

Jesus is NOT the same at all! He created Siddartha, Abraham, Socrates, and Moses.

Krishna is a demon.

God bless the Crusaders!

ISA AKBAR!

I bear witness there is NO GOD but Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and Jesus is God Incarnate risen from the dead!**

The main difference between the teachings of lord Buddha and Lord Jesus Christ is that lord Buddha teaches a middle way between self-denunciation and pleasure seeking. Lord Jesus Christ teaches Love above all things. Both agree that love is very important (I believe that there is a Buddha of Love). Both are easily compatible, I do believe that Buddha is right in some things like meditation and living the 8-fold Path.

Hi

You are welcome to express yourself in full; but within the Catholic morality. It is good for us.

Together we learn.

Thanks

Hi

I would suggest a little correction here. Jesus was born very late of Mary; so when he never existed in the first place, in my opinion, he could not create Siddartha, Abraham and Moses; at least to my knowledge, they never acknowledged that they were created by Jesus, a man yet to be born.

Do you believe that Mary was created by Jesus? I don’t think you believe that. You must be a reasonable gentleman, to me.

This is only if you realize.

Together we learn.

Thanks

Paarsurrey, Jesus has always existed:

The Gospel of St. John 1:1-3

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made.”

So yes, the Lord Jesus did in fact create Mary.

Hi

Who wrote the above passage? And to whom your question is addressed?

I don’t think I wrote the passage. Please therefore excuse me to answer it. It is however interesting. Isn’t it?

I love Jesus and Mary as I do love Buddha and Krishna, so essential for the peace of the world.

Thanks

Paarsurrey,

I say this with all due respect, but you have no clue about Christianity. It is obvious that you have never studied Christianity because of the questions you ask. Since you spend a good deal of time on this website, I suggest you familiarise yourself with the basics of Christianity.

Please read the Gospels - all of them in their entirety. Then read the Nicene Creed and the Apostolic Creed. After that, read an explanation of those creeds and study basic Christian doctrines.

When you have done all of this, you will know what Christians believe; and you will no longer have any misunderstandings. In order to understand what we write, you should at least know and understand the basics of the Christian faith.

Hi

The question I asked from our friend LDNCatholic as you can see.

Well you want me to rephrase it. How would you like me to rephrase it?

I may or man not agree according to me researched belief.

I don’t mind; let us give it a try.

I love Jesus and Mary as I do love Buddha and Krishna for world peace.

Thanks
