Christ-centric or Rome-centric?

“Rome is not the center of the Catholic church. The center of the Catholic church is Jesus Christ.”
This is a direct, verbatim quote from Cardinal Gerhard Muller.

Christ through his Catholic Church in full communion with the Pope. The bishops and priests receive the mission and sacred power to act in persona Christi Capitis.

if God wants multiple religions, how can he send HIS SON to SACRIFICE for the ONE TRUE RELIGION.
First, the statement you quoted does not mean God wants multiple religions, but that He has allowed diversity in His divine wisdom.

Second, the Church teaches Jesus’ sacrifice was for the benefit of all men. Not just Christianity, not just for the Catholic Church.

The Church possesses the truth. The full truth. God loves those outside the Church in our day every bit as much He loved the Gentiles outside the Hebrew nation in the days of the OT. That is why He woke you up to that truth to sends you out into the world every day.

Do I listen to the speaker or do I listen to the voice?

Do I see light or do I see what my eyes see?

Do I think my thoughts or do I think with my brain?

Well I sure hope that things aren’t all as bad as they sound. I look forward to the story of everything being revealed with love and laughter in Heaven.

I’d focus on prayer and seeking perfection, because ultimately that’s the best way to have an influence.

You said they were the Pope’s own words, and to support it, you quoted an interview by a journalist you yourself said is questionable. How is that supposed to pass as “the Pope’s own words”?
OK. You are right. I misspoke, quote]

You 'misspoke? You call making a statement that the Pope said Christ was not God ‘misspeaking’? I’d call it something stronger, frankly.

Remember friend, Popes are temporary, Christ is the eternal king. One bad Pope doesn’t discredit the entire institution that Christ the King Himself set up for our sake.

Bad Popes will come and go, but there is always a hope that we will get a better one. Once Pope Francis passes or resigns his successor will most likely do a much better job than him.

Pray the rosary everyday and make penance for better clergy.

In thy strength, O Lord, the king shall joy; and in thy salvation he shall rejoice exceedingly.
Thou hast given him his heart’s desire: end hast not withholden from him the will of his lips.

For thou hast prevented him with blessings of sweetness: thou hast set on his head a crown of precious stones. He asked life of thee: and thou hast given him length of days for ever and ever.

His glory is great in thy salvation: glory and great beauty shalt thou lay upon him. For thou shalt give him to be a blessing for ever and ever: thou shalt make him joyful in gladness with thy countenance.

For the king hopeth in the Lord: and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
Let thy hand be found by all thy enemies: let thy right hand find out all them that hate thee.
Thou shalt make them as an oven of fire, in the time of thy anger: the Lord shall trouble them in his wrath, and fire shall devour them.

Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth: and their seed from among the children of men. For they have intended evils against thee: they have devised counsels which they have not been able to establish.

For thou shalt make them turn their back: in thy remnants thou shalt prepare their face. Be thou exalted, O Lord, in thy own strength: we will sing and praise thy power.

It is best to study the major documents and constitution of Vatican II because Pope Francis clearly speaks from that excellent contribution. The statements in those documents are highly contextualized and need to be studied and understood since they clarify (not contradict) the mission and beliefs of the church. Start with Dei Verbum and then Lumen Gentium, and Gaudium et Spes.

Both. Christ is the Church. It’s important to realize that Christ said and taught much more than to just “be nice” and “have a Christian attitude.” Many, many people have forgotten that.

Is the Catholic Church centered on faith in God, the Trinity and Jesus Christ, or is it a Roman institution? Are we to follow Christ, his life and his way, or Rome?
False dichotomy.
How do you know you are following Christ?

Jesus taught us how to pray, gave us the two commandments and the beatitudes. If I stick to those I probably won’t need the Pachemama.

What point did you just try to make?
Why are you worried about this pahcemom when you have the Catholic Church?
