English is not my native language, I’m sorry for any misspellings.

Lately I had some troubles with believing in God, but thanks to the people who answered my questions and the issues I had with Christianity, and of course after praying and praying and praying very hard to God if he is there, to guide me and he did!

But yet, I have some issues with Catholicism. however, I’m thinking of becoming Catholic with some rules that might not be catholic, so I’m going to address them here and tell me if that is Catholic or not. Sorry if this sound kind silly but just go with it guys, you’ve been with me all the way so walk with me this extra mile and I will be very thankful to you.

1 / I believe in God and worship him only and believe that he the only one who can save me and no one else could.

2 / Believe that Our Lady Mary is holy and there living in heavens and she prays for us.

3 / I don’t believe that there is place where the souls are sitting there until they get to the heaven, because to be honest, I can’t accept that idea while I believe in Jesus Christ’s work on the cross for me.

4 / Some people said that Catholics pray to the saints more than praying to God himself, now I ask you if that is true or not and waiting for your replies?

So, with all that, could I be Catholic or not ?

Yes we adore God (Trinity) alone. It is God who saves us --though of course he does not say count out the prayers and actions of others to help us --but such is still by him.

2 / Believe that Our Lady Mary is holy and there living in heavens and she prays for us.
Yes she is Holy and is in Heaven and prays for us

3 / I don’t believe that there is place where the souls are sitting there until they get to the heaven, because to be honest, I can’t accept that idea while I believe in Jesus Christ’s work on the cross for me.
It can be said to be more of a state – one can even say that it is Jesus who purifies us with his love – it is NOT apart from the cross and Resurrection of Christ it is the final application of such --to make us perfect and ready to receive better the love of God

4 / Some people said that Catholics pray to the saints more than praying to God himself, now I ask you if that is true or not and waiting for your replies?
We do as the Saints (those Christians in Heaven) to pray for us. But it God who we are to love above all and we pray very much to God (The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit)

So, with all that, could I be Catholic or not ?

We invite you begin RCIA and come into full Communion with the Church 🙂

may God help you as you seek for the truth in Jesus name Amen…

Well, speaking for myself and what I observe other Catholics do, here is a sample:
  • we start our prayers with a petition to God: “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit”;
  • the Mass is completely theocentric;
  • we often pray directly to God, for instance, before meals or going to bed; and
  • even prayers to the saints, such as the Rosary, are prayed through the saints to God.
Really, if we weren’t praying to God in the end, why even bother?

You’re doing pretty darn good! 🙂
1 / I believe in God and worship him only and believe that he the only one who can save me and no one else could.
This is exactly what the Catholic Church teaches.
2 / Believe that Our Lady Mary is holy and there living in heavens and she prays for us.
“Our Lady” - yes indeed. 🙂 No objection with #2 either.
3 / I don’t believe that there is place where the souls are sitting there until they get to the heaven, because to be honest, I can’t accept that idea while I believe in Jesus Christ’s work on the cross for me.
The Church does not teach this. What she teaches is what every Protestant believes, which is that at death, if we are saved, God completes our perfection and our purification. When we are alive we are not perfect and are not in a state to enter heaven. God “cleans us up” so to speak and makes us in that state when we die. As I say, every Protestant believes this too.
4 / Some people said that Catholics pray to the saints more than praying to God himself, now I ask you if that is true or not and waiting for your replies?
Praying to the saints IS praying to God, through our brothers and sisters in heaven. You can read in Revelation how they offer our prayers before God. As to praying to the saints more than to God, here’s an interesting fact: in the Catholic Mass, our highest form of worship, we mention God in his various names and titles well over 100 times. We mention Mary 2 times. Does that sound like we pray to saints more than to God?
So, with all that, could I be Catholic or not ?
The Church that Christ founded awaits you with open arms. 🙂

Right on. I suspect your thinking of Mary and the Saints. Catholics referece and verate them; BUT NEVER “worship them.” Worship is for God ALONE
Believe that Our Lady Mary is holy and there living in heavens and she prays for us
Yes is a VERY persoanl way, when we ask Her too…
I don’t believe that there is place where the souls are sitting there until they get to the heaven, because to be honest, I can’t accept that idea while I believe in Jesus Christ’s work on the cross for me
Your speaking here of Purgatory; sort of a “Soul-Wash” and it IS biblical:

EACH OF THESE IS A DIRECT REFERENCE TO PURGATORY:) Because God Is perfect; a Soul to must be either perfect or perfected in order to enter INTO the Beatific Vision.

“Some people said that Catholics pray to the saints more than praying to God himself, now I ask you if that is true or not and waiting for your replies?”

ALL PRAYER IS DIRECTED TO GOD AS ITS END:thumbsup: Much prayer is chanelled THROUGH Mary and the Sains as INTERSESSORS. WHY?

**They are IN God’s Presence

They actually ADD there own prayer ONTOP of ours

Then present Our prayers to God personally on our behalf.

IS THIS NECESSARY… NO!:)**

But it is very effective and Beneficial!

God Bless you, and THANKS for asking,

Pat /PJM here on CAF

So, with all that, could I be Catholic or not ?
