What do people on Catholic Answers believe about the “state” of anything secular or non-spiritual being inherently sinful or forbidden? I have such a tough deal with this myself. I want to be able to desire or think about women and not be guilt-tripped and told that I’m sinning against God. It looks like the church imposes this idea on men more than women. My take in a spoiler below is one of my own illustrations.

Summary
It even made me believe that I shouldn’t have been created if God wired us to have a desire for a partner or something to that nature. Yet we have to live within the restrictions and limitations imposed upon us by modern living today and the stress and burdens that adds.
That may mean some young people have to wait very long to have a partner and some may never and end up dying as singles or virgins on this mortal earth. The same idea of teaching I got from most churches (Catholic or non-Catholic) is that Jesus said we won’t marry in Matthew:23 and that means we won’t have romantic eros once we cross over the point where we leave this earth.
So until then, all the chronically single people who longed for a partner and their ability to attain one may be outside of their control because of the restrictions imposed on us by our current modern world will never meet that beautiful “one” if any kind of “no eros in the hereafter” is really true. Like because they were born too late or something. Even other people mocked me and others who feel like me by saying my desires and longing was “stupid”. Also why aren’t we just together with a partner in Heaven if we longed for one like Adam & Eve were in Genesis?
Catholics and Christians do sound strongly convinced about the doctrine that anything that is physical or “material” on this earth is inherently wicked or sinful, sometimes.
And I’m going to sleep soon, good night.
